Walk It Off

Sometime around the time this picture was taken at Smith Family rehearsal last night I thought to myself, ‘Maybe I’ve taken on just a few more projects than I can manage.’

I have five performances — solo April 24, Smith Family April 29, solo April 30, solo May 20, Cockfight May 21 — and a new mtv.com/movies site to launch by June 1. Not to mention two half marathons and a 10 miler.

I was so distracted by all of it last night that I took the NR two stops in the wrong direction before realizing. Once I finally got home, I ate dinner (Healthy Choice frozen, again), and went straight to bed. I woke up from strange dreams twice. Finally, just before dawn, I couldn’t stand it anymore, got up, made a mix CD, wrote down the dream (I’ll spare you this time except to say forget Chris Martin, Gwenyth was mine), and tried to write a song. But I couldn’t stay awake, so went back to sweet, dreamless sleep again.

When I used to play baseball, and a teammate (or I) got beaned with a rogue pitch, the coach would say, “Walk it off.” If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go outside and do so now.
