Blue On Blue

I wore my standard issue blue on blue on blue today, but subverted it with pink gingham, kelly green, and my “Vote Yes” t-shirt in honor of my new hero of whimsical substance, Michel Gondry.

I have been anticipating his sophomore film effort, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” for months. And I have been boning up on his work all week: from The White Stripes’ “Hardest Button to Button” and The Chemical Brothers’ “How Does It Feel?” videos, to his documentary, “I Have Been Twelve My Whole Life.” So today was the day, and I was ready.

Of course, the film regards heartbreak, and the ability to erase memories of love lost. So it smacks of timeliness, and relevancy. So today was the day, and I was ready.

I’m no fan of spoilers, and as I encourage you to take in this hilarious, imaginative, and moving story yourself, I will not spoil a thing. Instead, I’ll say this: Vote yes. Say yes. Break through. Give in. Whatever it takes, it’s worth it.

It’s a terrific picture. And couldn’t be more timely for me. Now, if only the ex would see it, and get it, we might be onto something.

Either way, I say, “Yes.” And so should you.

What else is there?
