Please, In The Name Of My Future Children…
Yesterday was pretty major: Almost Home shipped, and I changed my first diaper. Quite the Friday night, right?
First things first: Almost Home is en route from Acme CD Manufacturing in Houston, TX. All one thousand of ’em. All $1663.52 of ’em. Which, when combined with studio costs (which, thanks to Kevin’s generousity, were more than fair), musician fees, and mastering (not to mention sushi and beer), brings the price tag of getting Home to somewhere around (insert Dr. Evil voice here) four thousand dollars. Most of which is accruing interest on my Mastercard. So please, in the name of my future children’s education, click here to order a few copies right this very second…
Phew. Thanks.
Speaking of children, I spent Friday evening with beautiful Ethan. We bounced around and sang and played for a while until one of us — I’m not sure which — ran out of energy. I gave him a bottle, then was charged with changing my first diaper. He was crying because he was tired and a little grumpy and apparently doesn’t like to be on his back, but otherwise I think I did pretty well. I mean, I didn’t get peed on. So that’s good. Then I read to him (though he was more interested in eating the book). And then it was bedtime. For me, I mean — I was exhausted.
So today is errands day: Bed, Bath & Beyond, hardware store, post office, frame shop, blah blah blah. And tomorrow is tour prep day: silk screening t-shirts with Sakko, rehearsing with the band. But first I gotta’ get a run in: the NYC Marathon’s only 50 weeks away, and Diddy’s pledged to run it again.
So, I’ll meet you when you get here…
