‘Almost Home’ Double CD!?!

With one month until Almost Home is due for mastering, basic tracks for the new record are completely done. Kev and I have had a productive first month. And it’s been a blast. I’d say we’re about 50% done, about half way home. The track listing for the Almost Home double CD should look something like this:

Disc One: Almost Home
California
Never Be The Same
Intent On St. Paul
Hollywood Arms
Shiver
Radio
Annalia (Come Back Home)
I’ll Be Waiting
Stay
New York

Disc Two: The JFK/LAX Demos
California
Intent On St. Paul
Hollywood Arms
Stay
New York
+ Leaving On A Jet Plane

Next steps: Tony’s guitar on ‘Never Be The Same’ (Sunday), Julia’s cello parts (Wednesday), Jason’s addition guitars and vocals (Thursday), Kev and my incidental instrumentation (keys, percussion, etc), and finally, my vocals and harmonies. Then mastering, art, duplication… wow. And pretty f’in’ beat.

So if it weren’t so damned late, I’d tell you all about how long it took me to nail ‘Stay,’ how beautiful (and sad) ‘Leaving On A Jet Plane’ sounds. If it weren’t so damned late I I’d tell you how loud the amp was cranked for ‘Never Be The Same,’ and how f’in’ psyched Kev and I were when we left at mindnight. And if it weren’t so damned late I’d tell you how excited I am for the weekend, what with ‘Lost In Translation,’ ‘Dummy,’ and ‘Casa de los Babys’ in wide release.

But it is. Late. So… sweet dreams.
