Planning The Summer’s Gone Tour

Can you smell it? There’s optimism in the air!

MM Artist Management head honcho Kevin Medina is 110% on the tour management job. We’re looking at booking the “Summer’s Gone Tour” the third week in September (right on the cusp of the last week of summer and the first week of fall!) from Boston, Massachussettes, to Athens, Georgia.

As I said to Kev, if I make it half way, it’ll be an achievement. And the culmination of a lifelong dream.

I’ve always loved road trips — I put 8,553 miles on my Nissan Sentra between Philadelphia and San Diego (and back) my junion year in college — and Lord knows I love to perform.

I’d do Boston (Kendell Cafe) and New York (Mercury Lounge) with the band, the rest solo acoustic. Then in October I’m hoping to do another month-long residency at Arlene Grocery.

So… I’m hopeful it’ll work out, if even just a little bit, and I’ll see you in your town soon.

The ace in the hole will be securing the support of Girlie Action, who do publicity for White Stripes and a bunch more bands, to help hype the whole thing. We’ll see…

Meanwhile, Sugaroo! Music Licencing partner Michelle Bayer is working on getting the “Crash Site” songs on TV and film. So there’s reason to believe we all may be received at Graceland yet.

Oh! And my buddy Matt Kinney’s web design company, The BET Agency, is working on a redesign for benjaminwagner.com. So geez, why not smile?

All I have to do is get those darn .aif files from Duke, remix “Summer’s Gone” and record a few b-sides at Kevin Anthony’s Control One Studios, get some new artwork goin’ on, duplicate a few hundred copies, and get ’em out to radio and press. No problem!

Just so long as we take it one sweet day at a time…
